Remember that you can order books from our LION Catalog on the home page and have them reserved for you by using the number on the front of your student ID. You may also renew overdue books online from this same site with your student number.

Search Engine

Search Engine-- Google--Use Advanced Search

"With the Exact Phrase" will give great results if the phrase is well constructed. Use the words such as these when you are looking for information on the "for" side: recommend, support, pro, backing, advocating, championing, in favor of, approve, admire, follow, endorse

Use these words for information on the "against" side: con, oppose, object, disagree, contradict, censure, denounce, differ, dissent, controversial

 

Magazines and Journals

Magazine articles can be found under "Resources" at the Home Page. Use the Connecticut Digital Library for Infotrac Student Edition and ELibrary. A great search word to use with your topic is "editorial". A search such as "Affirmative Action Editorial" will give you the opinion of the editor of the magazine or newspaper on your topic.
